Internship of the Staff of the Department of Scientific and Technical Information in Germany

During October/November, 2011 staff of the Research Institute of Machinery Engineering Technologies (NII MachTech, a part of the Department of Scientific and Technical Information) took extension courses in Digital Technologies in Germany.

rapid prototyping (3D printing)The choice of country was not accidental: Germany is one of the leaders of the world’s engineering industry; most companies supplying equipment used by NII MachTech are located here.

Обучение проходило по следующим направлениям:

Training was carried out in the following directions:

  • rapid prototyping (3D printing) – at the facilities of 3D-Systems in Darmstadt, EnvisionTEC in Gladbeck, SLM-Solutions in Lübeck, VoxelJet and ProMetal in Augsburg;

  • metal casting – at the facilities of MK-Technology in Grafschaft, SLM-Solutions in Lübeck, and at the NRU casting plant in Heimnitz;
  • CNC processing – in the IFW Stuttgart Institute for Machine Tools and at BMM facilities in Bimölen.

Training in the area of 3D scanning took place at Nikon Metrology facilities in Löwen, one of Belgian university centres.
