Phenomenon of Eurasianism: Conference of the Faculty of Humanities

On April 18, 2012 a conference "The Phenomenon of Eurasianism: images, methodology, prognostics of the global world" was held at the Polytechnic University.

The main objective of the conference was the search for new solutions to the issues of social ideas and ways of development of modern Eurasian space and Russian society in particular.

 

Prominent Russian scholars in the area of philosophy and cultural research took part in the conference.

 

The report ‘National and unifying spirit of Eurasianism’ of Askar A. Akayev, the first President of Kyrgyzstan and a Foreign Member of Russian Academy of Science (RAS) attracted particular interest.  The SPbSPU Faculty of Humanities was represented by the senior research associate of the Laboratory of Applied Social Studies Nina Vladimirovna Rudskaya. Her report ‘Scale of Values as a Key Concept of Eurasian Integration.

 

A Traditional Approach to the Problem’ dealt with a historical research on establishment of eurasianism both in our country and abroad.
