On May 17 and 18 the Polytechnic University held the research and practice conference "Mechanisms of Public Private Parthership in the Development of Social Infrastructure"

 

Mechanisms of Public Private Partnership: Conference at SPbSPU

The participants discussed specific features and practical experience of projects implementation on the basis of principles of public private partnership in the development of social infrastructure. Among the issues discussed were various theoretical and practical aspects of implementation of projects based on public private partnership.

 

The participants of the conference visited Slavyanka residential area in Pushkinsky district of St. Petersburg, where a school constructed by Baltros Group of Companies on the basis of public private partnership model is located.

During the conference its participants supported the Polytechnical University initiative on establishment of the North-West Research and Education Centre in the Area of Public Private Partnership. The organizing committee received recommendations urging to intensify efforts in the sphere of project management methodology development, as well as training and professional development of specialists and academic and teaching staff.

 

Following the conference results a letter was prepared which was submitted to the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.  The letter suggests ‘establishing on the territory of the Russian Federation research and education centers with a status of a research, education and methodological centre ensuring conduct of fundamental, applied scientific research, education programs and activities in the area of public private partnership and introduction of these developments in project activities of state and commercial entities in the area of public private partnership.’ Also participants addressed to relevant ministries with a proposal to support activities of such centers.

 

Within the scope of the conference a presentation of the SPbSPU Endowment Fund took place. The fund was founded in order to render all conceivable assistance to the university development. Donations accumulated by the SPbSPU Endowment Fund will be directed for development of science and education, support of eminent scientists of the university, financing of innovation projects and programs.

 

The conference was organized by the North-West Research and Education Centre in the Area of Public Private Partnership under SPbSPU and Public Private Partnership Development Centre Nonprofit Partnership (Moscow).
