SPbSPU Scientists received State Awards

On May 25 a solemn ceremony of awarding the St.Petersburg Government prize-winners was held in Svetovoy Hall of Smolny Palace.

 

SPbSPU Scientists received State Awards

The ceremony was attended by Georgy Poltavchenko, Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Dmitry Livanov, Nobel Prize Laureate, Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Science and President of its St. Petersburg Scientific Center Zhores Alferov and Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Vasily Kichedzhi.

 

SPbSPU Scientists received State Awards

Winners of 2012 St. Petersburg Government Prize for excellence in higher and secondary vocational education became the following teams of SPbSPU scientists:


in the category ‘Organizational Solutions for Specialist Training Quality Improvement’


Team of contributors: Vlasova Olga Leonardovna, Babkin Alexander Vasilyevich, Karov Dmitriy Dmitrievich - for development and implementation of a complex system for improvement of training quality of St. Petersburg and North-West Federal District high technology industrial enterprises and research organizations specialists;

 

in the category ‘Integration of Education, Science and Industry’


 Team of contributors: Zabelin Nikolay Alexeevich, Rassokhin Viktor Alexandrovich, Fokin Georgiy Anatolyevich - for the use of innovation research and education technologies developed in integration with gas industry – a course of training of advanced highly skilled specialists of St. Petersburg and North-West Federal District power industry.’

 

The following SPbSPU scientists were named winners of 2012 St. Petersburg Government Prize for prominent scientific results in science and technology:


in the Mathematics and Mechanics category – P.L. Chebyshev Prize:


Mikhail Khaimovich Strelets, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Head of the Computational Hydroacoustics and Turbulence Laboratory of the SPbSPU Research Institute of Electronic Systems ‒ ‘for a series of works regarding development of new approaches to turbulence modeling and efficient numerical methods of turbulent flow calculation.’

 

 in the Engineering Science category – A.N. Krylov Prize:


 Viktor Vasilyevich Yelistratov, Doctor of Engineering, Chairman of the Renewable Sources of Energy and Hydropower Department of the Faculty of Civil Engineering said: ‘for development of theoretical and process bases of transformation, use and accumulation of renewable energy with arbitrary deterministic buildup in construction of power-generating facilities for grid and distributed generation.’
