New Research Building is being constructed

A new research building is being con­structed at University campus.


Con­struction is being funded state budget within the framework of Federal Target Pro­gram “Research and development in the Priority fields of the Russian Science and Technology Complex (2007-2012)” and from non-budget sources attracted by University.


The new building is to allocate innova­tive institutions of the United Science and Technology Research Institute (USTRI).


This Institute was established in October of 2010 as an integral unit of St. Peters­burg State Polytechnic University (SPb­SPU) by virtue of rector’s order following the decision of the University Academic Council.


The USRTI currently consists of three Sci­ence and Innovations Institutes – “Mate­rials and Technologies” (MTSII), “Energy, Recourse Saving and Ecology Technolo­gies” (SII “EnergoEco”), “Machine Build­ing Technologies” (SII “MachTech”) and Science and Research Institute for Nano-Bio Technologies (SRI “NanoBio”).


The University Development Program as such of the National Research University plans that within the period of 2011-2012 USRTI will additionally include other in­stitutions conducting activities in priority fields of the University development.


The completion of the construction is planned for 2013.
