New Rector of the Polytechnic University

On May 12, 2011 the thirtieth Rector of SPbSPU Andrey Rudskoy was elected. This is the 12th graduate of the University, who led the alma mater.

 

Starting from his graduation from the Faculty of Physics and Metallurgy of LPI in 1981, A.I. Rudskoy has been pursuing scientific and pedagogical activity at the subdepartment of the plastic metal treatment.

 

In 1985, he defended his candidate’s dissertation, and in 1998 – his doctoral thesis.

In 2000, he was attributed a title of professor, and in 2008 he was elected a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Science (RAS).

 

The sphere of A.I. Rudskoy’s interests is concerned with the theory and technology for obtaining nano-structured materials, plastic metal treatment, powder metallurgy. He has authored around 200 scientific papers, including 9 monographs, and 5 inventor’s certificates.

 

A.I. Rudskoy is a full member of a number of public academies, a consulting professor of the Leibniz University (Hannover, Germany). A.I. Rudskoy has been included the Russian National Register of Educational Quality Experts. The scientific and educational activities of A.I. Rudskoy have been distinguished with high Russian and international awards. Starting from 2003, A.I. Rudskoy has been overseeing the university’s scientific and research activities as its vice-rector.
