Developments by Scientists from SPbSPU Won the Gold in Malaysia

In late May, the 22nd International Exhibition of innovations, inventions and technologies – ITEX’11 – was held in Malaysia, being one of the most important exhibition events in the South-East Asia.


Developments by Scientists from SPbSPU Won the Gold in MalaysiaThe Russian exhibits were provided by developments from leading institutions and scientific institutes within RAS. SPbSPU presented 3 projects at ITEX’11, and all of them were awarded by the gold medals and certificates. Moreover, two of the three projects received special prizes.


The following projects of SPbSPU received the awards:


Low-consumption centripetal partial turbine jointly designed by the scientists of SPbSPU (head of the Turbine engines and units subdepartment, V.A. Rassokhin, and associate prof. N.A. Zabelin), Ltd. Gazprom Transgaz St. Petersburg (General Director, G.A. Fokin), and Ltd. Scientific Center for Microturbine Technologies (General Director, S.N. Besedin). The joint project was awarded a gold medal and a special prize for the best environment-friendly design.


Hemodynamic simulator for ultrasonic scanning specialists jointly designed by the scientists of SPbSPU (A.D. Yukhnev, Ya.A. Gataulin, Yu.S. Chumakov, A.B. Stepanov and E.A. Stepanov) and the companies participants in the Technopark in the Lesnoy, Ltd. Afalina and FANT. The development was awarded with a gold medal.


Biomass energy processing unit jointly developed by a group of scientists from the Civil construction and applied  ecology subdepartment of FCE (prof. M.P. Fedorov, associate prof. A.N. Chusov, prof. A.V. Bobyl, prof. V.I. Maslikov). The work was awarded the exhibition’s gold medal and a special prize from the Korean Association of Inventors and Investors.
