In Saint-Petersburg leading scientists from Europe and Asia discussed innovations in building and constructionSaint-Petersburg State Polytechnical University and the University of Applied Sciences of Hameenlinna (Finland, HAMK University) were thefirst to organize an International scientific seminarMetnet in Russia.On February 17 to 19 in Saint-Petersburg leading scientists from Russia, Europe and Asia exchanged experience and results of innovation in the construction industry.



Scientists from Russia, Germany, Finland, Romania and Malaysia discussed actual issues for construction industry: usage of information technology in the construction, improvement of energy efficiency of installations, slowdown of physical and moral depreciation of buildings.In the frameworks of School of young scientists at the seminar students and post-graduates of the Institute of Civil Engineering of Saint-Petersburg State Polytechnical University demonstrated their projects.


The results of the seminar were developments and solutions in the framework of international projects of European Research Association (ERA). Following the discussions, plans for collaborative researches between Russian and foreign scientists were developed. The first results of joint researches will be presented by the participants at the next seminar Metnet, which will be held on October 21-22 in Moscow.
