More than 180 talented participants from different countries took part in this competition and carried out different theoretical and practical cases. Young postgraduates from Russian, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan took part in the final.

All 4 students from SPBPU (from IT and Management department) performed very well in this prestigious competition. Three our students were successful to become the first 6 in Oracle's SQL programming contest: Alexei Litkovets was 2nd, Arthur Shamsutdinov 4th and Evgeni Kuzminsky was 6th. The company InterSystems conducted the contest on DBMS Caché and BI DeepSee. Roman Andrianov was rated 4th in this contest.

Oleg Yurievich Sabinin, assistant professor of the Intelligent Computer-aided Technologies Department, complemented our students on the "IT-planet" final. After the results had been announced, he praised the successful performance of our students and expressed his feeling about the contest: "It-planet" is a very prestigious international competition for students of IT departments. The tasks which were given during the contest were very complicated even for IT professionals. I am sure that the participation in such events is a serious step towards a new professional level.

Congratulations to our students and many thanks to their tutors: Oleg Yurievich Sabinin, Natalya Viktorovna Andreeva and Tatiana Vadimovna Petrova, who have helped them in the preparation for the contest.
